What Is This Initiative?

A targeted intervention by OOSCF to provide 50 sickle cell warriors with comprehensive health insurance coverage, giving them access to quality healthcare without financial barriers.

Comprehensive Coverage

Each warrior receives 12 months of health insurance covering hospitalisation, blood transfusions, specialist consultations, medications (including hydroxyurea), and emergency care.

Who Benefits

Verified sickle cell patients — predominantly youth and young adults — who lack access to formal health insurance due to poverty, unemployment, or exclusion from employer schemes.

How Sponsorship Works

You select a tier, make your secure payment via Flutterwave, and your funds directly finance health insurance premiums. You receive a certificate and regular impact updates.

Measurable Impact

Every naira is tracked and reported. Sponsors receive quarterly impact reports showing healthcare utilisation, quality-of-life improvements, and crisis incidents prevented.

The Warrior Wall

Each shield represents one warrior. Gold shields are sponsored. White shields are waiting for a champion like you.

"With health insurance, I didn't have to choose between buying food and buying my medication. OOSCF changed that."

Blood Transfusions

Sickle cell patients average 3–6 transfusions per year. Without insurance, each can cost ₦50,000–₦120,000 out of pocket.

Hospitalisation Costs

A single vaso-occlusive crisis (painful episode) requiring hospitalisation can cost ₦80,000–₦300,000 without coverage.

Medication Access

Hydroxyurea and chronic pain management medications cost ₦15,000–₦40,000 monthly — often unaffordable without insurance.
